The 53rd annual meeting of Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation( ATBC) will be held from 19th til 23rd June 2016 in Corum Congress Centre in Montpellier.
In a rapidly changing world where pristine ecosystems disappear and biodiversity should be maintained in environments modified by man and sometimes new, combining conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in the tropics has become a critical issue.
The ATBC 53rd annual meeting focuses on this issue and aims to bring together scientists from many different disciplines to share ideas, concepts and approaches, and develop and promote innovations for the conservation of tropical ecosystems in the coming decades. This 2016 edition will focus on ” Tropical Ecology and Society : Reconciling sustainable use of biodiversity and conservation”.
This annual meeting is one of the most important events on climatology, tropical areas, biosciences, biology, conservation and tropical biology practices. The number of visitors expected to attend the meeting was nearly 400 ; on April 21st, 673 participants from 31 countries have already confirmed their attendance.
the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation ( ATBC ) was founded in 1963. It is an international scope company, which aims to promote research , education and communication on tropical biology .
The ATBC, with members from 65 countries, promotes collaboration and sharing of information across a large community of professionals tropical biology. It allows better dissemination of research, in particular education and funding for early career scientists across the tropics.
As a coherent global community of professional science, the ATBC provides a credible vision, collective and authoritative on the biology and conservation of tropical issues underlying public policy and management measures.
